Creamy Instant Pot Ziti

Creamy Instant Pot Ziti

Sometimes dinner needs to get done in a hurry. That doesn’t mean you have to pop something from the freezer into the microwave. The instant pot is a great way to get dinner on the table quickly. It also means easy!

This recipe, though similar to my regular baked ziti recipe, is ridiculously easy. I mean – you’ll be wondering how you lived without it all these years. If you don’t have an instant pot – go grab one on Amazon, it will change your cooking life! (see disclosure at the bottom of the page)

There are a couple steps that you MUST follow – where the recipe says Don’t Stir – PLEASE DON’T STIR – I promise it will turn out perfect in the end.

When cooking pasta in the instant pot – take the cook time of the pasta on the package directions and cut it in half, then subtract two. So if the package says to cook it for 10 minutes, you’ll cut that in half to five and then subtract two to get three. Your cook time will be three minutes. Then you will let the pot self release for 10 minutes and then quick release.

You will then stir in the cheese and be left with the creamiest, cheesy ziti ever! (Yes, I know I used penne pasta in the picture – feel free to use whatever pasta you want!!)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 lb ziti or pasta of your choice
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce choose your favorite
  • 2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Spray the pot with non-stick cooking spray. Add the chicken broth and then the cream. Do not stir.

  2. Add the pasta and spread out so it is even in the liquid. Do not stir. Pour the spaghetti sauce on top of that. Do not stir.

  3. Set the instant pot to sealing and then push the pressure cook button. Set the cook time. You will take the package cook time and cut it in half and then subtract two. If your cook time is 10 minutes, cut in half to get five minutes, then subtract two to get three minutes. Set the cook time to three minutes.

  4. It will take about 8-10 minutes for the pot to build up pressure then it will cook for three minutes. When it beeps, let it self release for 10 minutes (I set a timer on my phone or Alexa), then quick release it. When it is done (the silver button will go down), open the lid and add the cheeses. Stir and serve. Enjoy!
