Asparagus Wreath
Want to get fancy with your veggies? This asparagus wreath is an easy way to impress your guests, or just your family. I love making my food look fun (kids are more likely to eat fun food). Even our dog loved the leftovers.
I remember the first time I ate asparagus. It was at a family friend’s house. Our family had been invited for dinner and they served asparagus (among other things, I only remember the asparagus). I think I must have been between 6 and 8 years old. I don’t know why I had never had it before, especially since my mom was a vegetarian. Anyway, I learned that night that I love asparagus. Why my mom kept making lima beans instead of asparagus is a mystery to me.
We love asparagus over here (who doesn’t love a food that makes your pee smell funny;) I had fun making this asparagus wreath and with only a few ingredients, I think you’ll have fun too!
Asparagus Wreath
Make your asparagus into this pretty wreath with a little red pepper and garlic.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ bunches asparagus
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 4 Tbsp red pepper chopped
- 2-3 Tbsp butter
Instructions
-
Chop the tough ends off the asparagus. Steam until bright green and a fork is inserted easily.
-
While the asparagus is steaming, melt butter in the pan. Saute the red peppers and garlic until fragrant and and peppers are tender.
-
Arrange the asparagus into a wreath, overlapping in a circle. Pour the garlic and red peppers over the wreath. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Enjoy!
