Balsamic Butter Sauce

Balsamic Butter Sauce

I recently went to Trader Joe’s for the first time.  I know, I am a little late to the game, but hey, I made it, right?  While I was there, I bought some Butternut Squash Ravioli.  Normally I would put tomato sauce or a three cheese sauce on ravioli, but not Butternut Squash Ravioli.  I had it once in a restaurant with a butter reduction sauce.  I decided to do something similar but with balsamic vinegar.  It was delicious!  Super easy and nice on a night when you don’t have a lot of time – there are only three ingredients and you probably have them in your kitchen right  now!  You could also serve this on chicken, vegetables, pasta – it is a very versatile sauce.

Balsamic Butter Sauce

Tangy, buttery sauce you can pour on ravioli, meat, or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2/3 cup butter cut into tablespoon size pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the balsamic vinegar to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Add garlic and stir.  Let boil for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes thicker and reduced.  Turn off the heat until you are ready to add the butter.

  3. When you are ready to serve, add butter.  Whisk in butter until it is melted and incorporated into a thick sauce.  Enjoy.
