Turkey Burgers

Turkey Burgers

Are you looking for a healthier burger?  I am not a huge fan of beef so I have always enjoyed turkey burgers.  I think they have more flavor – or maybe just a better flavor.  Either way, I am a fan.  As with most meat, flavor is key, and not over cooking.

In this recipe, I have added onion, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and an egg.  You can also use this recipe to make turkey meatballs.  Very versatile.  I made my patties, rather thin because that is they way I like them and it is easier when feeding small mouths.  However, form them as thick as you like, just make sure to adjust the cooking time.  You want the internal temp to be 165°F.

You will notice the hot dog in the picture.  Beau, the picky eater, will not eat burgers of any kind.  The rule in our house is you have to try the food – take one bite, and then decide if you like it or not.  He’s a hot dog kinda guy.
