Peanut Butter Fudge Balls

It is that time of year when I can’t resist a chocolate ball. Oh wait, that is all the time! I realize that I already have a recipe for peanut butter balls on this website. Those peanut butter balls are more like Reese’s Pieces. These are more of a peanut butter flavored fudge as you can see in the picture below and hence the name – peanut butter FUDGE balls.

Half of my children like peanut butter and half don’t. I can’t say I blame the ones that don’t because I used to be them! I didn’t like peanut butter until I was an adult – like college age adult. I know, it’s crazy. I never ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich until I was pregnant with Luke (that’s 2006 people) or a Reese’s Pieces.

It seems so strange now that I wouldn’t even eat a snickers bar because of the peanuts. I remember the first time I ate one. It was when I was doing a study abroad in Jerusalem. The staff passed out snickers for the students who cleaned their dorm rooms perfectly before leaving for Galilee. I passed and was so hungry on the way, I resorted to eating the snickers. Guys, I found out what I was missing all those years of giving my Halloween snickers to my brothers. Don’t worry, I have changed my ways. Now, I love peanut butter and peanuts. One of my favorite snacks these days are apple slices with Skippy crunchy peanut butter and nutella.

Just because you have kids that don’t like something doesn’t mean you can’t make it. It just means there is more for you and the people that do like it. Or more for you to share with friends and neighbors.

I can almost guarantee that you have all the ingredients for these peanut butter fudge balls in your pantry. They come together so quickly and are a perfect weekend or afterschool activity for you and your kiddos. I always buy Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts – they are my fave and the boys in the house love to snack on them.
