Chocolate Chip Cookies
I know what you are thinking. Does the world need another chocolate chip cookie recipe? I don’t know the answer to that. I do know that I want the world to have THIS chocolate chip cookie recipe because it is, hands down, my favorite.
It has all that I love about a chocolate chip cookie. A nice crunch on the outside when you bite into it, a soft inside, and plenty of chocolate. I have made a lot of chocolate chip cookies in my day so so feel like I am a pretty good judge. Now, I realize we all might want something different in a chocolate chip cookie. Some may be satisfied with Chips Ahoy, others may like a package from Costco, some are good with the Toll House recipe. All of those options are perfectly fine. But, if you are looking for a little something more, a cookie you bite into and say, “Wow, that is a good cookie!” then you have come to the right place. This recipe is for you.

There are two essential parts of this recipe. One is when you add the eggs and vanilla, mix until it is light and fluffy, a couple minutes at least. The second is a teaspoon of cornstarch. This gives it the crispy outside while maintaining the soft inside. That’s it, everything else is pretty standard when it comes to chocolate chip cookie making. I really hope you try this recipe! Let me know if it lives up to your expectations.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
This chocolate chip cookie recipe delivers everything you want in a chocolate chip cookie – a crunchy outside with a soft middle. It might become your new favorite.

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla

- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350° F and line two or three baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
In the bowl of a standing mixer (you can also use a hand mixer) cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix for about two minutes, until the mixture is lighter in color and fluffy.
-
Add the baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until combined. Add the flour and mix until combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix until combined.
-
I use a medium ice cream scoop and fill it just past the rim with cookie dough (about 3-4 tablespoons). Place eight cookie dough balls on the sheet, staggered so they won’t touch when baked. Bake for 8-10 minutes depending on your oven. Keep an eye on them so they do not burn. My oven runs a little hot so I bake them for 8-9 minutes. Let them cool on the pan for five minutes and then transfer to a cooking rack. Enjoy!
