Pork Chops and Dirty Rice

Onion soup flavored rice cover these pork chops to make a filling meal.

Ingredients

  • 6-10 pork chops boneless
  • 1 1/2 cups rice
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbls butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Melt butter in a 12 inch frying pan over medium heat.  Place pork chops in until just browned on each side (maybe one minute, careful not to over cook.  Place in  9 X 13 inch baking dish.

  2. Pour rice over the pork chops.  In the frying pan, add sliced onions, water, and onion soup mix.  Stir and let simmer for a minute.  Pour over the rice and pork chops.  

  3. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.  Serve with applesauce and a vegetable or salad.
